Phases

A Beastieball match opposing two players contains 2 main phases: offense and defense. While one player is in offense, the other is in defense, and each player can't see what the other is going to do. Once every all actions are done, the players switch phases.

Offense

While in offense, the player by default has up to 3 actions to use to use an attack to send the ball to the opposing team.

Serving is a phase that only happens once per point, it is similar to the offense phase in that the opposing player is in defense phase, however the player serving only has one action, with the ball on the first Beastie in the player's lineup.

In multi-points matches, the player that just won a point is the one that serves right after.

Defense

Number of Beasties

In a Beastieball match, each coach can have between 2 and 5 Beasties on their team. There are always 2 Beasties on the field (part of the active team) while the others are on the bench.

Plays

Plays are what the Beasties use during a Beastieball match. Outside of basic plays, there are 3 plays that each Beastie can use during a match. Although once it is learned, no play can be forgotten as Beasties can swap in and out any of their equipped plays at any time outside of matches.

Attack plays

Attack plays are plays that send the ball to the opponent team, thus inflicting damage to them to lower their stamina. They are always the last action to do during an offense turn.

Types

Every attack plays have a specific type associated to them. They can either be Body, Spirit, or Mind. It is the attack's type that determines which corresponding user's POW and target's DEF will be used to calculate the damages inflicted to the target, alongside the attack's POW.
