The Beastie Research Society is a sponsor in Beastieball.

Description

The Beastie Research Society, also known as the BRS, is an organization which hopes to study Beasties and their environment in order to cultivate a better understanding of Beastieball.

Location

The BRS is based out of a lab in Begonia. The building is located on the right side of the upper deck built around the giant tree.

Members

There are three known researchers that make up the BRS:

Story

After defeating Marlin for the position of Rutile's head coach, the player meets Reese in the first Beastie habitat they enter. Upon interacting with him, he explains that he is from the Beastie Research Society and installs the Beastiepedia app on the player's phone. Then, he explains the research feature of the app and offers them a sponsorship through the BRS.

Later, the player can find Reese north of Jasper. He explains that he probably was not supposed to give them a sponsorship, but also that he has a good feeling about them so it might be fine. He then leaves for Mythwood.

After successfully arriving in Begonia, the player can access the Begonia lab, but the only researcher present is Craig, who works on the Beastiepedia app and keeps it running properly on a multitude of devices.

The rest of the BRS team can be found in Miconia Grove, where Reese and head researcher Celia are studying strange Beastie activity: an Illugus that has gone Rowdy near the heart of the fungal colony. Celia is trying to understand what makes a Beastie go rowdy and why it has been happening recently, while Reese is working on a research project to better understand how fungi is intertwined with Beasties and the very existence of Beastieball.

After explaining the Rowdy Beastie situation, Celia suggests the player play a match against Reese as a test. If the player can handle Reese (who both Celia and Reese himself claim is "bad"), then Celia will trust them to take on the Rowdy Beastie so that they can get back to work at the lab.

Once the Rowdy Beastie has been calmed down, the player can find Celia and Reese back in the lab. If the player speaks with Celia, they can challenge them to a ranked match. After winning, Celia will bestow upon them a BRS sponsorship. The player, of course, already had a BRS sponsorship prior to this, but they act cool and feign excitement.
