Elena

From Beastiepedia: The Beastieball Wiki

Elena is an NPC in Beastieball. She is the coach of The Hello Freaks, the Ranked Team of Mainframe in Geo City, and is also a popular streamer.

Appearance

Elena has pale skin and a wide, oval-shaped head with fuchsia hair in two pigtails. She wears a pair of purple headphones with cat ears on top, purple tennis shoes with dark yellow tights, and a large grey sweater with an Axolati on it and sleeves that are too long for her arms. Her facial features and expressions frequently resemble a cat.

Personality

Elena's personality is quite different on- and off-stream; during livestreams, she is loud, chatty, and confident, and interacts closely with her viewers, often putting her stream guests on the spot. She begins every livestream with her signature greeting, "HELLO FREAKS!" However, outside of her livestreams, she is much more awkward and somewhat unsure of herself, having admitted that she never goes out because she spends almost all of her time streaming or on the computer.

Background

Elena went to the Beastieball Academy and studied under Callisto. Callisto continuously pushed her to achieve her “potential,” much to her annoyance.

Story

Upon arriving in Mainframe, the player finds out that Elena is streaming from the nearby Zip Station and has multiple people attempting to match against her on SportNet. The player defeats the other coaches and eventually lands a match with Elena, who bursts out of the building and ropes the player into her livestream. She plays against the player using her Sweaty stall "meme team"; when the player wins, she declares that they haven't truly beaten her until they play against her main team. She then asks the stream chat if the two of them should have an official match, which the chat decisively agrees to, and the match is scheduled.

Elena livestreams the Ranked Match against her; every single turn, she lets her chat decide which of the player's Beasties she'll target. After the player's victory, she briefly drops the livestream persona and thanks them for the match, before giving them her contact.

Hangouts

First Hangout

The first time the player calls Elena, she invites them to be on her stream again in the Mainframe Zip Station. Upon starting the stream, she informs the player that they will participate in a super obscure Beastie trivia quiz, and that she will reward them $10 for every correct answer, but take $10 from them for every incorrect answer.

Although the player has no way of knowing the answers themself, they can look at the stream chat to see people posting the correct answers. After getting three answers correct, Elena assumes they must be cheating and declares that anyone who posts the correct answer in chat will be banned. From this point, the player must figure out which of the four answers is not visible in the chat messages, which will be the correct answer.

If the player got any answers correct, Elena is annoyed and states that their score should have been 0. She then thanks the player and chat for coming, before signing off.

Second Hangout

For the second hangout, Elena invites the player to go to the mall. Upon arriving, she realizes she isn't even sure what they should do, even though going to the mall was her idea. She confides in the player that she almost never goes out and hardly has a life outside of streaming, spending most of her time at home on the computer. She states that she considers herself to be a bit of a freak, which the player may also say about themself. After conversing a bit more, she bids the player farewell and leaves.

Third Hangout

For the third hangout, Elena invites the player to be a "test subject" for her newest meme team. The player meets her in Mainframe and joins her livestream again, and she calls in her new team; however, one of them fails to show up, so she calls in her new reserve team instead, before playing a match against the player. Just like her first meme team, her new team uses Sweaty extensively.

If the player wins, Elena bemoans the lack of viability of her new team; if the player loses, she expresses confidence in her new team and states that even the Beastieball League will eventually bow before her. Either way, she ends the stream and leaves.

Fourth Hangout

Elena states that she has an errand to run, and invites the player to tag along. They meet her at Beastieball Academy; she reveals that this is where she went to school, and that she loans her reserve Beasties to them. She expresses some guilt over this, lamenting that she doesn't have time to have all of her Beasties on her team, which the player may choose to relate to.

After entering the academy and dropping off her Beasties, Elena and the player are approached by Callisto, who welcomes her back after her long absence and asks what she's been up to recently. Elena tells her that she's been streaming and building new teams to show to her viewers. Callisto states that she caught one of Elena's recent streams and thought it was fun, but then backhandedly muses about how pointless an activity it seems, expressing nostalgia for the days when Elena played "real" Beastieball. Elena is somewhat speechless in response; Callisto offers her to stay and train for a while, but Elena declines and leaves with the player.

Outside, Elena briefly vents her frustration to the player and promises that their next hangout will be more fun, before leaving.

Trivia

  • One of Elena's idle animations greatly resembles the "Dance Moves" emote from Fortnite, commonly known as the "default dance," which is widely parodied on the internet.
