Servace

From Beastiepedia: The Beastieball Wiki

"They leap high enough to snatch birds straight out of the sky. They'll leave claw marks on high places as a form of competition."
—Beastiepedia

Servace is a Beastie. They metamorph from Servitt starting at Level 38.

Biology

Servace is a bipedal, feline Beastie. They have orange fur, with white fur on their underside and lower face, and accents of teal-blue fur across their body. They have blue eyes and a small snout with a red nose, and they have large, slightly rounded and pointy ears with pink insides. Their paws have three digits each, with teal-blue paw-pads, and red claws on their forepaws, which are substantially larger. Their tail is short and gets wider in the middle before tapering off at the tip, with stripes of orange and teal-blue fur.

In Servace's Raremorph form, their fur becomes salmon pink with yellow accents, a magenta nose and claws, and yellow paw-pads.

Trivia

  • Servace's internal name is "serval". It also has two old internal names, "decoy" and "hinata".
    • "hinata" likely refers to Shōyō Hinata, the protagonist of the volleyball anime/manga series Haikyū!!, which served as one of Beastieball's primary inspirations.
    • "decoy" likely refers to a type of play in volleyball meant to disguise the spiker who will receive the set. In addition, in Haikyū!!, Shōyō Hinata is described as "the ultimate decoy".

Origin

Servace is based on a serval, a mid-sized wild cat native to Africa. The blue fur on their chest and arms also somewhat resembles a sports jersey and wristbands, giving them the appearance of a volleyball player.

Name origin

Servace may be a combination of serval, serve, and ace. In volleyball, a service ace is a serve that directly results in a score.
