Kaleidarn

Kaleidarn is a Beastie.
Biology
Kaleidarn is an insectoid Beastie that resembles a dragonfly. Their segmented body consists of a rectangular head segment, a rhomboidal body segment, and a tail made of four spherical segments. These segments all have the appearance of glass, and can be one of a range of colors, from blue to sea-green to purple. The eyes on the sides of their head are square-shaped and have round yellow pupils. They have two tiny black arms that are thin and loop-shaped, and their large yellow wings also appear as if they're made out of glass.
In Kaleidarn's Raremorph form, their colors become duller and more metallic, with their body and wings separately becoming gold or silver.

Trivia
- Kaleidarn's internal name is "dragonfly". It also has an old internal name, "dragonfly1". This numbered name matches the internal naming scheme of the first stages of metamorph lines, implying Kaleidarn may have had one or more scrapped metamorphed forms.
- Kaleidarn debuted in the June 2024 Preview Playtest with the name "Dragla" before its official name was revealed in an official social media post on July 9, 2024.
- Kaleidarn's voice samples were created by editing sound effects. It, along with Woollie, are the only Beasties whose voice samples weren't performed by humans, although according to Greg Lobanov "we did try, lol." [1]
Origin
Kaleidarn is based on a dragonfly. Their many possible colors and light-refracting properties are similar to the iridescent structural coloration of many dragonfly species.
Name origin
Kaleidarn may be a combination of kaleidoscope and darner (a family of dragonflies).
