List of minor characters in Amberstone
The following minor characters can be found in Amberstone:
Rutile
Name | Image | Description |
---|---|---|
Annabel | Passionate about Beastieball and Marlin's formerly championship caliber team. Tells the player, "Positioning is KEY in Beastieball," explaining the POW and DEF multipliers for Beasties in the front or back row. Also explains sideways moves. | |
Construction Moe | Originally found cutting down trees to begin the reserve clearing project for the Beastieball League. Stays in Rutile while the League decides whether or not to follow through with construction. Thinks the town is a mess. Gives the player advice on making story progress, Beastie guardians, and recruiting Beasties. | |
Dan | "Can tell ya about all the Feelings Beasties get." Does not wait in line before your match with Marlin. | |
Jackie | Stands by the southern exit of town. Feels offended that the League has put up barriers there, since non-coaches cannot jump. Advises to the player, "All you need to do is keep your eye on the BALL," and explains how they should use all three actions whenever possible. Also explains the basic move Free Ball. | |
Raymond | Supports the player by going to all of their Ranked Matches, wearing their team color, and giving advice on how to best handle that Coach's team. Explains Body, Spirit, and Mind attacks, as well as how a Beastie's POW and DEF stats interact with them. |
Jasper
Name | Image | Description |
---|---|---|
Camila | Talks about the ways Beasties can be unique from others in their own species, such as vibes and coloring. Camila's Sefren, named Chiggums and numbered 31, has a Mischievous vibe. More interested in observing Beastie personalities than watching Beastieball. | |
Caroline | "So freaking sick of this backwards town." Tired of hearing people talk about hiking and, "the freaking Sportsball. Beastieball. Whatever." Claims, "Jasper is where culture goes to die," but believes Rutile is worse.
Caroline is one of the three bored citizens the player must convince to watch their match with Kaz. Is intrigued by the concept of something fun to do, but will only agree to go if the player says that it is not hiking, nor "the freaking Sportsball," but "a game of culture," and that "games are art." Caroline is then interested and "excited to see a cultural event in this town with absolutely zero sports involved." Before the match, Caroline feels betrayed, saying, "This is definitely the Sportsball. You freak. You tricked me." Won't leave because it would be too awkward to step out of such a short line. Confuses the concepts present in Beastieball with those in Basketjam, such as, "an ally-oop," and, "a slam-dunk." However, by the end of the match, claims, "I'd watch more." | |
Kenta | Climbed onto a roof in a failed search for excitement. Claims, "My life is going nowhere in this town." Unsure of own purpose or future plans.
Kenta is one of the three bored citizens the player must convince to watch their match with Kaz. Does not need further convincing, saying, "Maybe it's what will spark joy in my heart and finally teach me to appreciate life." Before the match, Kenta says of being at the game, "It reminds me of school trips when I was a kid. I hated school trips when I was a kid. What am I doing here?" However, at the end of the match, Kenta finds watching Kaz lose hilarious and wants to see more of it. | |
Luiz | Recently traveled to Jasper from Mythwood via the Jasper Mines. Advises the player to bring drinks and snacks before heading into the mines. Explains that there was once a gold rush in Jasper, but now its all an abandoned Beastie habitat. | |
Renan | Came all the way from Geo City for a new hat. After initially discovering its existence, fell into despair, suffering every day without the hat. Informs the player that every clothing store has its own unique styles. | |
Sol | Fresh off the train on the way to the secret Beastieball Academy. Wants only to play Beastieball and build the perfect team. "A bit obsessive," having recruited too many Beasties to keep track of. If the player has recruited enough Beasties, Sol will give them a Beastiepedia mod that marks what Beasties they have recruited. | |
William | Loves Beastieball, always following the Crown Series as well as playing the video games. Despite having several in-game Beasties at level 100, claims, "I could never train them in real life." | |
Eda | Passionate about Beastieball but severely disappointed with the lacking local scene, saying, "Being a Beastieball fan in Jasper is rough." Claims to be a more capable coach than Kaz, but really wants someone exciting to watch.
As one of the three bored citizens the player must convince to watch their match with Kaz, Eda tests them with a match before agreeing to go, saying, "Let's see if you can even get a couple points off me!" After losing, Eda says, "Well, at least you can beat an old casual like me." After defeating Kaz, Eda shouts from the stands, "That was a great match! That was a real Beastieball match! Like I always wanted!" |
Beryl
The following minor characters can be found in Beryl:
Name | Image | Description |
---|---|---|
Autumn | Has been trying to learn to play bass, claiming, "It's fun, but, I suck pretty bad at it." Experiences anxiety trying to play in front of others. Ultimately wants to play along with a friend who has a beautiful singing voice, but hasn't brought it up to her yet. | |
Carlos | Likes Beastieball, but hates waiting while the Beasties take turns. Informs the player of the Sport Speed setting. Thinks Riven is the best coach, while Kaz and the Raging Blazes are "a total joke," and "nobody cares" about Marlin and the Rutile All-stars anymore. Surprised to hear that Marlin has been replaced. Has a friend who lives in the Chroma Sea, whose local coach "completely annihilated" Riven in a match. | |
Javier | Informs the player about Beryl's two main appeals: their fantastic Beastieball team, the the Mythic Dreamers; and their port. Javier's family has worked the port for generations. Grandpa was a sailor or perhaps a pirate. | |
Natalia | Loves "getting lost looking out at the sea." Rents a boat almost every weekend. Moved to Beryl "to get away from it all," which worked because, "wherever it all is... it sure ain't here." | |
Simge | Schoolchild who knows a girl who is "a big stinky liar" for claiming to have seen an extinct Beastie in real life while camping with her dad.
The player can show Simge a Beastiepedia entry to prove that the extinct Beastie exists (possibly Xiphosaur, but Simge will not accept one recruited via randomizer). Upon being shown a Beastie, replies, "Um, that Beastie isn't extinct... They look pretty... IN-stinct to me." | |
Trent | Misses seeing Riven play. Explains that she was an easy choice for head coach, being naturally gifted. Between her talents with coaching and with writing, she makes regular citizens like Trent feel lazy. Hasn't actually read any of Riven's books. | |
Jay | Visibly and vocally a huge fan of Bildit. Claims to know everything about Friendship Plays, even challenging the player to a match to show this off. |
