"They use their bill to detect electrical fields. They rely heavily on this sense while the rest of their body develops." —Beastiepedia

Platenna is a Beastie. They metamorph into Platypulse starting at Level 19.

Biology

Platenna is a bipedal, mammalian Beastie. They have periwinkle skin, and are mostly concealed within a partially broken orange eggshell. Peeking out from the shell is their long, rounded bill, two flipper-like legs, and a short, flat tail. Their bill has two nostrils and one pointy tooth, and their beady blue or green eyes peek out from the dark inside of the shell. They also have two pointy blue or green spines poking out the top of the shell.

In Platenna's Raremorph form, their skin becomes black, their eggshell becomes a darker and more saturated orange, and their eyes and spines become a more pale blue or green.

Trivia

  • Platenna's internal name is "platypus1".

Origin

Platenna is based on a platypus. Them being in an eggshell is a reference to the platypus being one of the few mammals that lay eggs; additionally, their ability to detect electrical fields is inspired by the ability of the platypus to detect the movement of prey using electrical currents, as confirmed by the newsletter post that introduced them.

Name origin

Platenna may be a combination of platypus and antenna.
