Surgus

Surgus is a Beastie. They metamorph from Sprecko at Cerise Atoll.
They and their fellow metamorphs of Sprecko have an Extinct form, Shloom, which they can achieve by communing with three mushroom colonies.
Biology
Surgus is a bipedal, reptilian Beastie. They have aquamarine skin with lighter spots on their neck, belly and back, while their fingertips, toes, and most of their tail are coral red. Their eyes have irises that match the color of the berries of the Sprecko they metamorphed from, and they have a short snout with lighter freckle-like spots on their cheeks. Their head has a cluster of red coral-like growths on top, and they have a large coral pink cap with holes in it that resembles a sun hat. Their hands have four digits each that have spherical tips, resembling the hands of a gecko. Their tail is long and tapering, and has red coral-like growths toward the tip.
In Surgus's Raremorph form, their skin becomes yellow, with their other features becoming sky blue.

Trivia
- Surgus's internal name is "shroom_s". It also has an old internal name, "tree_s", which may imply a different design theme.
- Some of this original "tree" concept can be seen in the concept art for its Extinct form.
Origin
Surgus is based on a gecko. Their fungal features appear to be based on clavarioid fungi, also known as coral fungi.
Name origin
Surgus may be a combination of surge (a sudden rush of water) and fungus.
